Why Traffic ? What Rules !

Is Traffic and Rules are interlinked here definitely not. When it comes to traffic we are extremely good in creating it and when it comes to following rules were are below substandard in following it.

From where it all starts, when a regular office goers was late as he/she loses patience and where time becomes enemy results in a death race to reach the office. At that kind of situation the only thing in his/her mind is to reach the destination as soon as possible whether in good or bad manner. The traffic rules won't be in front of him/her at that circumstances.

Another type is knowing the rules very well and not obeying it carelessly. Few youngsters and Auto-wala will fall into this category. 

Likewise many reasons inside city which creates traffic, but the first and foremost reason is not following the basic traffic rules.

It's really happy to see digital changes happening in every metropolitan cities of India including completely automated generated bills which are being send to our mobile phones for signal violations. Traffic Rules and rules for such vehicles which are moving daily on our roads are now upgrading daily. Both the central and state government now started to give some kind of extra importance for such issues. Introduction of eVahan system for vehicles are a good appreciation thing.

Every two wheelers should not exceed two persons and both the persons in vehicle should wear helmets is a good innovative. But practically many face difficulties in placing the helmets after ride. Automotive companies and private parking companies should come up with an perfect solution for it. Because a person can't carry helmets with him always everywhere.

Issuing of e-challan and demanding a cashless payment on the spot is highly recommended, but things like a person going to post office & making the payment. His/her duty after paying fine, the work is over for that penalty issued. But on my personal experience, i have seen plenty of cases such as a ordinary person (for example auto drivers, cab drivers) their work is not completed after paying the amount at post office. It's is not updated properly in online portal and thus resulting in mandatorily making them to spend their time again for that penalty. This type of issues are simply a big burden to analog people, this can be fixed only by government, whether the fault is happening in post office counter or online portal.

Agree or not MTC buses are the masters of Chennai city roadways. Few bus drivers drive are like F1 drivers and their gap taking skills can't not be matched with anyone. MTC has introduced many new buses earlier this year but still the old MTC buses are having high horn sounds which thrills the normal motorist, even some new MTC buses too modified with powerful horns. It's very rare for you to see an patience MTC driver. Such powerful horns are a big headache and also creates noise pollution to the environment.

Recently Mumbai traffic police has started an initiative by placing decibel meters in some signals inside city. When vehicles are waiting for signal in red, if some anonymous vehicles horns and it continues, the decibel meter in signal continuously measures sound waves and when the limit reach above 90 decibels the countdown for red signal again starts from the beginning. So strategies like this new ideas surely make a big difference in roadways transportation in future. Also regulations to control noise pollution should also be made strict for every vehicles.

On the one side if the government is getting fine form people for violating traffic rules, such violations which results in traffic accidents. To reduce such accidents on the other hand government should also continuously educate people by creative memes, drawings, videos, contents etc.. such awareness process about traffic rules and regulations should never be stopped.

When a big construction is going to happen in major junction of the city, for upcoming next few months or years the people travelling alone with the construction site will also experiences a step above disturbance. Simultaneously with the project, a well structured pre-planned design to avoid vehicle slowdown need be implemented. Works also need to be sketched to reduce traffic in that construction site and also to maintain vehicles speed in that area until the project got completed. A daily office goers and public should never be affected because of that construction site, solutions like making a lane one way can be done temporarily to unlock the traffic.

So such events need to permitted to happen only outside city in suburban places to avoid affecting the common citizens and office goers.

Now every traffic signals inside city are being maintained by manual and traditional method of passing signals for a constant period of regular time intervals for each ways. Such methods need to be switched to completely automated ones with the help of AI (artificial intelligence) to control the traffic and to reduce it immediately. For example in a four way junction three ways are in heavy traffic and a one way alone is free, in such situations a automated signals scan the traffic distance in meters and provide solution in real-time to reduce traffic in those three ways by giving extra time.

Fine amount for drunken driving is now increased from 2000 to 10,000 INR such steps by government are highly appreciable. Because the driver who is drunk not only affects him/her life alone, also the citizens whomever travelling in the road.

Driving without license is also one of the dangerous thing, because a school boy/girl dont have proper driving skill and used to drive two wheeler which might result in a big accident. Parents must control their child and should not encourage them to drive without licence.

Whatever the situation is wearing helmet while driving is a mandatory thing, you should never compromise in that such situations alone. Also educating people about traffic rules like said before should never fade away unless every single person accepts the importance about traffic rules.
